Terms and Conditions

We are Simple Skip Hire (a division of Nationwide Services Group Ltd; 2 Frankton Way; Gosport; Hants, PO12 1FR Registered in England No 04325035).

Skips placed on the Highway

Before a skip can be placed on the Highway (broadly any land not privately owned) a permit is required from the Local Authority. Different authorities have different conditions but most require cones and/or lights to surround the skip if it is placed on the road.

If requested, we can organise the Permit but it is your responsibility to ensure that the Permit is in place, that the skip is correctly lit and that we are given 2 days notice to extend the Permit should this be required. In any event, the responsibility for complying with the Highways Acts rests with you.

Skip placed on Private Land

Although we will take every care when delivering and collecting the skip, we cannot be held liable for any damage that may be caused when we are asked to drive off the public highway. You are responsible for any damage to third parties property should you ask us to deliver to private land.

You must not put (or allow others to put) Hazardous Wastes in the skip including: Fridges, Freezers, Vehicle Tyres, Paint Tins, Electrical and Electronic Equipment, Asbestos, Clinical, Medical, Oily, Toxic wastes, Solvents, Batteries, Gas Cylinders, Fluorescent Tubes, Plasterboard (greater than 10% of load) without obtaining written permission from us first. If the skip is found to contain such items, a surcharge will be payable.

For further information on Hazardous Wastes, please see www.environment-agency.gov.uk.

In addition, you agree not to :

  • Light fires in the skip.
  • Place any corrosive acid, noxious substance or liquid cement in the Skip.
  • Fill the skip above the level of the sides.
  • Inability to Collect or Deliver

We may change you for the abortive visit if we are unable to deliver or collect the skip on the arranged time due to restrictions on the access to the skip.

    Consequential Losses

We shall not be liable for any consequential loss, expenses, liabilities or claims arising out of the late delivery, non-delivery, collection or unsuitability of the skip.

    Loss, Stolen or Damaged Skips.

It is your responsibility to look after the skip whilst it has been delivered to you and you are responsible for the cost of repair or replacement should it be lost, stolen or damaged (including by internal fires).

Payment terms are 30 days for account customers. Non-account customers are required to pay by credit card in advance of delivery to include 2.5% handling charge with surcharges payable on demand.
